Volunteer and Outreach Coordinator - Local Foods
Part of what we do at RTC is produce fun, educational events and programming around local foods and sustainable agriculture including: the Local Food Hero radio show on KTNF, 950AM (www.localfoodhero.com) Farmer-Chef Speed-dating workshops Minnesota Cooks event at the State Fair and Twin Cities Food and Wine Experience (in partnership with Food Alliance Midwest and Farmers Union) Homegrown Heartland Cooking Stage at Living Green Expo (in partnership with Heartland Food Network), and the Healthy Local Foods portion of the EcoExperience And, along with a number of partners, we just released the Minnesota Homegrown Cookbook with stories of chefs and farmers across the state (along with recipes!) 

We are looking for a VERY outgoing, well-organized individual to join us this summer to develop a volunteer program and help us do outreach around these programs.

This position can begin in May or June  and runs through early September. It is unpaid, but will be a lot of fun. We prefer someone who can work a minimum of 30 hours per week. Experience and knowledge of coordinating volunteers is a plus. Position also requires access to a car and valid drivers license as there will be some travel throughout Minnesota.

Editorial Assistant
Renewing the Countryside, in partnership with SARE, is producing a Youth Renewing the Countryside book. The book is in the final phases of production and we are looking for a mature, responsible individual who can help with final editing, writing, and coordination.

The book features stories of young, sustainable farmers and entrepreneurs across the country. This is a great opportunity for someone who loves writing and editing, is excited about rural sustainability and the food system, and  wants the unique opportunity to work in the production side of the book industry.

This position has an immediate start date (or until filled) and runs through the summer. It is unpaid. We prefer someone who can work a minimum of 20 hours per week, and more hours are preferable.
